Involvement of Parents & Carers

Back to School

We are committed to continuing our partnership with parents. We were awarded the Parent Partnership award in 2008.

Parents & Carers as Educators at Home

All parents and carers want the best for their children and want their children to do well at school. Raglan Infants provides guidance to parents and carers on ways of supporting their children, both with homework and ideas for incidental opportunities to learn together at home and the wider environment.

Parents & Carers Meetings and Workshops

We run courses such as "SHARE" and "KEEPING UP WITH THE CHILDREN" throughout the year. We can also run ESOL classes for parent/carers who wish to improve their skills of Reading and Writing in the English Language. We encourage dads and their children and invite parents & carers to join us on school "open days" and celebration events.

We also provide training for volunteer parents who wish to commit to regular support within school. We aim to guide parents and carers into further lifelong learning opportunities with local Adult education institutions.

Sharing Information with Parents & Carers

Raglan Infants provides information about the curriculum areas by termly newsletters. We offer parents & carers the opportunity to discuss their child’s progress and hear what they will be learning over the course of the year. Parents are informed about children’s termly progress and results of assessments through parent conferences.

We have an open door policy, where teachers are available to discuss pupil progress or any concerns a parent/carer may have.
